Coaching advice and practical support

The Dorset Self-Management Service supports people living with health conditions and carers. It aims to help people to identify issues affecting their day-to-day lives and work towards resolutions or just to have more “good days”.

The Dorset Self-Management Service offers a FREE NHS service for people with long-term health conditions and carers to feel more confident self-managing on a day-to-day basis.  There is personal health coaching, advice and practical support to access groups, activities and services. All services are available via telephone, video, or face to face if the situation permits.  You can self-refer online at Help & Care or by calling 0303 303 0153.

Support with pain

Soaring above pain is a pain management programme linked to the NHS.  In the service, you will learn new skills to help manage your pain.  But you won't be doing this alone, they will help you.  They offer regular support groups and peer support helpline 01202 858361.  Support includes a Fibromyalgia group, back pain workshops for older adults, pelvic pain programme, sleep group, mindfulness groups and 1:1 input.  Contact Dorset Pain to find out more or telephone 01305 363019, or email
